Pacific Science Center's Camps for Curious Minds are cooler than ever. With camp programs offered at five locations and with more than 200 sessions from which to choose, your camper is guaranteed a summer full of discovery. Summer Camps 2012

Pacific Science Center camps provide the perfect opportunity to explore, experiment and discover! With over 55 camps to choose from at five different locations, we have something for everyone. Our exciting and enriching camps, designed for children in kindergarten through grade 12 offer hands-on science experiments, fun and challenging projects as well as unique and innovative learning experiences that will create life-long memories and inspire the inner scientist in your child. New this year: camps offered in Bothell, as well as Seattle, Bellevue, Medina and Redmond locations.

Campers should plan to register for the grade they will enter in the Fall of 2012.

How to Register:

  • Online Registration is now under way. Pacific Science Center members receive a significant discount. Consider a Membership today.
  • Phone-in registration with Visa or MasterCard payment at (206) 443-2925.

Payment:

  • Total payment may be made at the time of registration; otherwise, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required at registration, with the balance due by April 30, 2012.
  • Registrations after April 30, 2012 require full payment at the time of registration.

Transfers:

  • For transfers, call (206) 443-2925. There will be a $20 fee per transfer between sessions (excluding transfers resulting from openings on our camp waiting lists).

Cancellations:

  • Requests for withdrawal from summer camp must be received at least two weeks before camp start date.
  • A $100 processing fee will be retained per camp session.
  • No refunds will be given within two weeks of camp start date.

Additional Info For Summer Camps 2012

Extended Day Care:

Morning

  • Available at Pacific Science Center's Main Campus from 7 - 8:15 a.m. and Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center from 7:30-8:45 a.m. for campers attending full-day camps.
  • Not available at the following locations: St. Thomas School, The Overlake School in Redmond and University of Washington Bothell.
  • Sign up at time of registration. Cost: $50 for 5-day camp week, $40 for 4-day camp week.
  • Morning extended care may be purchased by the day at the time of drop off for $12 daily.

Midday

  • For campers participating in both a morning and afternoon half-day camp at Pacific Science Center or St. Thomas School, care is available from Noon - 12:45 p.m. at no additional cost.
  • Please be sure to provide a lunch for campers staying between sessions.

Afternoon

  • Available from 4-6 p.m. at all five locations for campers attending full-day camps, and for campers attending afternoon half-day camps at Pacific Science Center.
  • Not available for half-day camps at Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center or St. Thomas School.
  • Sign up at registration. Cost: $50 for 5-day camp week, $40 for 4-day camp week.
  • Afternoon extended care may be purchased by the day at the time of pick up for $12 daily; alert our staff when dropping off your child.

Camper Lunch Program:
We are pleased to offer this convenient option at Pacific Science Center's main campus for full-day campers only (or campers participating in both morning and afternoon half-day camps). Lunches include an entree, fruit or vegetable, two sides and water delivered to your child at lunchtime. Substitutions are not available. If your child has any dietary restrictions, please do not sign up for our lunches (including vegetarianism, food allergies, lactose intolerance, etc.). View our menu. Cost: $30 for 5-day week, $24 for 4-day week (not available by the day).

Training & Service Opportunities For Teens

We are seeking responsible teen volunteers ages 14 to 18 to provide valuable assistance and mentoring of campers during the summer. Gain training and rewarding experience, working with children, build your resume or college application, meet high school service learning requirements and establish professional references. As an added benefit you will receive free passes to exhibits, IMAX(R) films and laser light shows.

You must be able to commit to at least two weeks during the summer. We offer the following opportunities:

  • Naturalist In Training at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center. Contact mercer.slough.teens@pacsci.org for application and training information. Applications due by March 31, 2012.
  • Science Educators in Training (formerly known as Counselors in Training). You must participate in the Science Educators in Training camp before volunteering in camps at Pacific Science Center, St. Thomas School, The Overlake School in Redmond or University of Washington Bothell.
