Foundations Of Science Breakfast

Speakers (left to right) Bryce Seidl, Hanson Hosein and Nathan Myhrvold
On Tuesday, April 3, 2012, Pacific Science Center held its 9th Annual Foundations of Science Breakfast. With the highest attendance in the event's history, it was a wonderful morning for Pacific Science Center. Thank you to all our sponsors, table hosts, attendees and everyone who helped make the event a success!
Pacific Science Center extends our sincere thanks to Nathan Myhrvold, CEO and Founder of Bellevue-based Intellectual Ventures, for being the keynote speaker at the 2012 Breakfast. We would also like to thank Hanson Hosein, Pacific Science Center Board Member and Director of the UW's Masters of Communication in Digital Media program, for serving as the chair of this year's event. The fascinating keynote conversation between Myhrvold and Hosein covered a diverse and inspiring array of topics. Thanks to the MCDM program, a video of the keynote is available online.
Another highlight from the morning was the educational activity led by two members of the Discovery Corps teen career ladder program. The activity showcased the talents of our Discovery Corps members in exploring fundamental scientific properties, as demonstrated by Radiometers. The activity was a great example of how Pacific Science Center is both engaging visitors with interactive exhibits and developing the next generation of scientists through effective programs like Discovery Corps.
