Tuesday, April 3, 2012
Featuring: A Conversation With Nathan Myhrvold.
Please join Pacific Science Center for our annual Foundations of Science Breakfast. The Breakfast is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Pacific Science Center and the impact our programs are having in communities and schools across the state. We hope you will join us for an informative and inspiring morning!
Nathan MyhrvoldWe are thrilled to have Nathan Myhrvold as the keynote speaker for the 2012 Breakfast. Myhrvold was Microsoft's first Chief Technology Officer and is the CEO and founder of Bellevue-based Intellectual Ventures. He's also an astrophysicist, wildlife photographer, master French chef and author of the recently published Modernist Cuisine, a six-volume, 2,438-page book on the science of cooking. Myhrvold believes "that invention is set to become the next software: a high-value asset that will serve as the foundation for new business models, liquid markets and investment strategies." What does this mean for the Pacific Northwest and are we prepared? Myhrvold will share his ideas on what this means for our region.
We would like to thank Hanson Hosein for serving as the Chair of the 2012 Breakfast. Hosein is the President of HRH Media Group; Director of the Master of Communication in Digital Media program at the University of Washington in Seattle; and member of Pacific Science Center's Board of Directors.
To accommodate a larger audience, the Breakfast is moving from Pacific Science Center to a new location - the Four Seasons Hotel Ballroom in downtown Seattle. The event runs from 7:30-9 a.m. and registration opens at 7 a.m.
Thanks to generous support from our sponsors, the Breakfast is free to attend. We hope to inspire guests to make a donation that morning, with a requested minimum donation of $150. All funds raised at the Breakfast directly support Pacific Science Center's onsite and outreach education programs.
