Pacific Science Center has teamed up with Zeno to present Math and Science Mashup, free events that invite members of communities around the Puget Sound to explore and discover the seemingly-hidden scientific world in our own homes.
Math and Science Mashups transform cafeterias, gyms, and community centers into a "house" of science, where children and parents can explore dozens of fun, hands-on activities and mathematical theories at play everywhere from the bedroom to kitchen to backyard and bathroom. In our "living room" you'll make your own kazoo as you uncover the mathematics of music and the science of sound. Venture over to the "backyard" and discover how hula hoops and paper airplanes work.
Math and Science Mashups provide an informal, fun experience that fosters a curiosity in the relationship we have with math in our everyday lives. Each event encourages parents to understand how they can nurture their own child's success in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects.
