Family Workshops
Join us on the second Saturday of the month for an interactive hour of hands-on learning about the Mercer Slough. We will cover a variety of topics for all ages to enjoy. Donations are welcome for participation in this program. Workshops are 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Mud & Muck - July 10 - 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
"Oh, what is that smell?" Ever wonder why a wetland is so wet and why it smells the way it does?! Squish around in our lab as we investigate the importance of wetlands with hands-on activities. $10/family, $7/individual. 30 people capacity.
Wild Edibles - August 14 - 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Are you hungry? Join us as we search, touch and taste some seasonal edibles available in the wetland this time of year. Did you know you can use a tree to make rope? Or that every part of a cattail is edible? Discover some of the specialized plant characteristics that people & cultures throughout history have come to depend on. $10/family, $7/individual. 30 people capacity.
Predator vs. Prey - September 11 - 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Explore the balancing act between predator and prey and how they manage to stay one step ahead of each other. Learn about unique relationships and adaptations that help some and hinder others. $10/family, $7/individual. 30 people capacity.
Something Fishy - October 9 - 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Come celebrate the arrival of salmon with activities that celebrate what makes a fish - a fish! Become a part of the salmon life cycle, look at fish scales up close and take home your own fish print. $10/family, $7/individual. 30 people capacity.
