Rocky Mountain Express retraces the original route aboard the Empress, a majestic steam engine, built in 1930. Restored and operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway, Rocky Mountain Express transports audiences aboard the Empress to experience the magic and drama of the age of the steam engine; an era of remarkable ingenuity, trials and tribulations.

Rocky Mountain Express weaves together spectacular IMAX® cinematography, photographs, maps, and the energy of a live steam locomotive to immerse audiences in this remarkable venture and greatest engineering feats of all time. It has been captured entirely on stunning ultra-high resolution and is presented through our new state-of-the-art IMAX® laser projector, delivering the ultimate IMAX® cinematic experience available.
