What may be one of the most unusual products of 3D Printing?

The answer: Hamburger

The Foodini is a 3D food printer that will use fresh ingredients to produce meals of your choice, including all the parts of a hamburger – meat, cheese, bun, and even the ketchup to go on top. The ingredients are blended and loaded into separate capsules that then get extruded on to a glass plate. Having a hard time imaging what the food will look like? Then check out some of the creations produced by the Foodini.

If this isn’t futurist enough for you, then consider what the next step in 3D printing of meals is likely to be. Hamburgers will be made from stem cells taken from cows. These cells will be placed in the right conditions to produce hamburger meat, which would then be used in the 3D printer. This may not sound very appetizing, but it could be quite environmentally friendly. Cows are very inefficient producers of meat, plus they belch methane, which amounts 10 to 20 percent of the greenhouse gases produced in the world.
