Annual Foundations of Science Breakfast

April 24, 2019 – Washington State Convention Center

The Foundations of Science Breakfast helps us provide the innovators of tomorrow with access to hands-on science experiences today. By igniting curiosity and fueling a passion for discovery, experimentation, and critical thinking, we can empower the next generation of great thinkers.

This year we have an exciting program featuring: Julie Sandler, Managing Director – Pioneer Square Labs

Julie Sandler is the new Managing Director of Pioneer Square Labs, an 18-month old “startup studio” that uses a unique innovation model to rapidly test and validate new ideas before recruiting an executive team to build out a spin-off company. She previously spent six years at Madrona Venture Partners, one of the top venture capital firms in the Pacific Northwest, immersing herself in the startup world as an investor, advisor, and mentor, traveling around the country and meeting entrepreneurs at accelerators, incubators, makerspaces, and worked her way up to become a partner at the firm this past January.

Ms. Sandler earned a MBA from Harvard Business School, is a Presidential Leadership Scholar, and currently serves on the Board of Directors at Washington Roundtable and Washington State Opportunity Scholarship.
