Ignite your child’s curiosity at Winter Camps at Pacific Science Center and Mercer Slough. Two sessions are offered, and there are no camps on December 25, 2019 or January 1, 2020.

Teddy’s Grand Adventure
Cost: Members, $280 / General Public, $310
Ages: Grades K-1
Teddy’s packing for an adventure to find out what scientists do. From medicine to flight, embark on a journey with your new stuffed friend to explore the world of science careers. Each evening, Teddy will venture out to make a new discovery. Create a virtual journal of exploration that you and Teddy can share with family and friends!
Superheroes
Cost: Members, $280 / General Public, $310
Ages: Grades K-1
Use your super science skills to design a super vehicle, test your super senses, and mix up super solutions in the lab. Combine your favorite powers to create your superhero identity, complete with a costume and gadgets.
Young Entrepreneurs
Cost: Members, $280 / General Public, $310
Ages: Grades 2-3
Calling all future CEOs! Experience first-hand the challenges and triumphs of starting and managing a business. Engage in creative problem-solving, product testing, and team building to run a hot chocolate stand. After creating the perfect recipe, develop a business plan to present to potential investors. Using the basics of Excel, build a budget, set goals, and recognize opportunities for your new startup company!
Amusement Park Physics
Cost: Members, $280 / General Public, $310
Ages: Grades 4-5
What makes one roller coaster more exciting than another? Discover how we can apply concepts of force, work, energy, momentum and acceleration to build rides. Design, create, and test your own ideas to build the theme park of your dreams. Don’t forget to strap in!

Smartest Art-chitect
Cost: Members, $280 / General Public, $310
Ages: Grades K-1
Colors! Spires! Dazzling heights! Blend engineering and art to uncover your inner creative genius! Imagine and construct your own innovative designs using paints, textures and unique building models. Find inspiration in city structures around you and experience science from a whole new perspective!
Story Explorers
Cost: Members, $280 / General Public, $310
Ages: Grades K-1
Become a literary explorer and venture into tales of science and discovery! Experiment with concoctions, journey with animals in a forest, and create weather phenomena with your own hands as you write your own story.
Robotic Rangers
Cost: Members, $320 / General Public, $350
Ages: Grades 2-3
Join us in the robotics lab! Discover what makes a robot and how engineers use them to explore remote habitats, solve difficult problems, and save lives. Then, put your own skills to work. Using Lego® Mindstorms® software and robotic parts, program a machine to overcome twisty obstacles and crafty challenges. It’s your turn to find engineering solutions!
Crazy Contraptions
Cost: Members, $320 / General Public, $350
Ages: Grades 4-5
Put on your critical thinking caps and get ready to engineer solutions to crazy challenges using science! Learn about the engineering design process as you define a problem, design a solution and put your creativity to the test. Every day will have a different challenge, culminating with a Rube Goldberg machine at the end of the week.
Camps at Mercer Slough
Natural Creations
Cost: Members, $280 / General Public, $310
Ages: Grades K-1
Take your artistic flair outside! Discover innovative ways to use trees, flowers and shrubs in works of art and structure design. Explore nature’s light, textures, and shapes as you develop your artistic skills. Experiment with natural building materials, delve into detailed drawings, and craft cool creations using recycled materials. Grab your creativity cap, bring your imagination, and join us for an artistic week in the wetlands.
Winter Survival
Cost: Members, $320 / General Public, $350
Ages: Grades 2-3
Think you can survive in the wild? Armed with a compass and map, you will navigate through the forest and the Mercer Slough wetlands. Construct a shelter out of natural materials and learn which items you should always have with you in the wilderness. Gather the skills you need to stay safe in the wild and prepare for the “Survival Challenge!”
Eco-Engineers
Cost: Members, $320 / General Public, $350
Ages: Grades 4-5
Put on your hard-hat and hiking shoes to explore the art of engineering in the natural world! Learn how humans have engineered sustainable solutions to live in and around wetlands. Explore how we look to animal engineers for inspiration. Create your own designs to solve engineering challenges and identify engineering needs to help humans, animals, and the environment.
Extended Care
Morning care is available at PacSci each day of camp starting at 7:30 a.m. Morning care is not available at Mercer Slough.
Afternoon care is available at PacSci and Mercer Slough until 6 p.m.
Holiday hours: Afternoon care is not available on Christmas Eve (December 24). All camps will end by 3:30 p.m. on that day.

Morning Care: $12 per day
Afternoon Care: $12 per day
Camper Lunch Program
Lunch is available at PacSci, and is not available at Mercer Slough. The menu is provided by our café and includes at least one hot lunch.

Cost: $40.00 for the week (includes one lunch and two snacks per day)

Monday: Vegetarian Chili Mac
Tuesday: Baked Potato Bar
Wednesday: No Camp
Thursday: Hot Dog Bar
Friday: Ravioli and Cheesy Garlic Bread
Each day, lunch will include a morning snack, afternoon snack, drink, and seasonal fruit or vegetable. Snacks may include string cheese, graham crackers, Tillamook cheddar, or other similar options. Beverages include a water bottle and apple juice.

Camp Policies and Information
Camp Registration, Transfers & Cancellations
Transfers
Requests for transfers must be made at least one week prior to the camp start date. The cost to transfer your child between camps is $30 per transfer.
To transfer your child between camps or cancel your child’s camp session(s), call (206) 443-2925.
Please have your confirmation number ready. Your confirmation number can be found in the confirmation email you received after registering for summer camp.
Cancellations
Requests for withdrawal from camp must be made at least two weeks prior to the camp start date. Please call (206) 443-2925 to cancel a camp session.

A $100 non-refundable deposit will be retained per camp session. No refunds will be given within two weeks of the camp start date.
Waitlist Procedures
An email will be sent if a spot becomes available. Please register for the camp through the link provided in the email. You will have to pay for the camp and complete the registration process.
If you would like to transfer to a different camp, please call our office after registering.
