Each staff member plays a vital role in fulfilling the Science Center’s mission.
Pacific Science Center regularly seeks motivated and service-oriented team players. Pacific Science Center offers a variety of career opportunities which vary from entry level positions to supervisory and management roles. These positions range anywhere from handling animals, providing exhibit interpretation, managing planetarium shows, to working in guest services, events, education, or behind the scenes. Regardless of job title, all employees of Pacific Science Center share a common passion for science education and uplifting service, and regularly have the opportunity to undergo skill development.
Working with a mission driven organization is not the only benefit employees enjoy. Regular and temporary employees enjoy varying levels of free annual Membership that include admission to the Science Center, IMAX documentaries, Laser Dome and Planetarium shows, feature IMAX movies and discounted admission to all major travelling exhibits. Many regular employees are also eligible for reduced rates on ORCA cards and all employees receive discounts at the Science Center café and gift shops. Employees also enjoy the positive and vibrant work environment, not to mention the Science Center’s exciting location – nestled between Seattle Center and downtown Seattle.
Full time employees also enjoy alternative service – opportunities to assist colleagues in various departments and projects, ultimately fostering the importance of teamwork and gaining greater exposure to guests and ever changing programs. Alternative service opportunities include canoeing in the Mercer Slough with summer campers, assisting with large scale events such as our annual New Year’s Eve party and major galas, or jumping on a Science on Wheels van to visit a local elementary school with science experiments for the day.
