Curiosity Days: Engineer It
Explore the way we dream, design, and develop innovative solutions for our everyday lives at Engineer It, November 10 and 11. Imagine new ideas to move and power our society and meet the local experts who are helping turn ideas into reality. Whether you want to build better robots, code, genes, or bridges—if you can dream it, you can engineer it!
Find a list of activities below. Make sure to follow the event on Facebook or check back here to stay updated as we add more.

Radical Robot Workshop – Program a robot to respond to your directions. Develop and optimize programs and complete challenges while discovering the world of robotics and basic program design.
Stream Tables – Construct a city to withstand elements such as heavy rain, flooding and erosion. Become an environmental engineer as you create solutions to environmental hazards while learning about natural engineers.
Wind Vehicle Challenge in Tinker Tank – Visit Tinker Tank to design the best wind vehicle that can carry as much weight as possible powered only by wind. Explore Pacific Science Center for bonus activities brought out from Tinker Tank like circuit blocks, building creations to recreate human and animal motion, and more.
3D Printing with UW Society of Mechanical Engineers – Explore 3D printing and build mini trebuchets, bristolebots, and plastic ping pong ball launchers.
Shows and Movies:
Engineering Stage Show – Join us as we design, test and redesign inventions inspired by the world around us. Learn about the process engineers follow to build anything from electricity-making wind turbines to soaring rockets!
Dream Big 3D in PACCAR IMAX – Dream Big: Engineering Our World is a first of its kind film for IMAX® and giant screen theatres that will transform how we think about engineering. From the Great Wall of China and the world’s tallest buildings, to underwater robots, solar cars and smart, sustainable cities, Dream Big celebrates the human ingenuity behind engineering marvels big and small, and reveals the heart that drives engineers to create better lives for people around the world. FRI & SAT 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, & 3:30 pm
Human Spaceflight in Willard Smith Planetarium – Flying humans into space is one of the most amazing engineering accomplishments. Join us as we explore the past, present and future of Human Spaceflight. FRI & SAT 4:00 pm
Engineer It Laser Show in the Laser Dome – Join us in the laser dome as we celebrate science, engineering, and robots through music and light. This is a great show for families and groups; featuring a collection of tunes from a variety of genres and eras. A universe of depth, color, and imagery performed and mixed live by our Laser Artists.
