Misinformation, disinformation, and fake news abound, it’s increasingly difficult to know what’s true. Our media environment has become hyperpartisan. Science is conducted by press release and we are currently living through the first pandemic in over 100 years with a presidential election rapidly approaching.
Learning how to be a skeptic in this age of misinformation is more important than ever. It’s up to us to analyze and evaluate the information available. While we may be able to spot “political speak” baloney, we’re not as well equipped to look at misinformation that is increasingly cloaked in math, science or statistics.
