Girls Night Out: Surgical Robotics and Science Fiction SOLD OUT


Explore how science fiction influences modern technology in the medical field! Meet scientist Niveditha Kalavakonda and learn about her current research in the University of Washington’s BioRobotics Lab. Participants then dive into basic mechanics and design an autonomous robot!

Guest Speaker: Niveditha Kalavakonda is a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Washington, and works on surgical robots in the BioRobotics Lab with Prof. Blake Hannaford. Outside the lab, she enjoys hiking different trails in the three National Parks close to us, biking the scores of trails Seattle offers and attending programs at the Seattle Symphony.
