Ingenious Engineering

NASA has put four rovers on the surface of Mars, each requiring a combination of curiosity, creativity and engineering skills. In this session, become an engineer and create a simple rover capable of surviving your own drop test. As you build, learn about some of the past and future machines that have landed on Mars.

Note: To participate in the hands-on activities, we recommend collecting some simple materials in advance. See suggested materials list below.

Suggested Materials List:

Basic crafting tools like tape, scissors, glue, pens, markers, hole punch
String or yarn
Paper, cardstock and/or cardboard tubes
Misc. craft supplies like fabric, pipe cleaners and/or clay
Misc. items from your kitchen including plastic bags, aluminum foil, clean plastic containers, and lids
Collect anything else you have that you’d like to use

Livestream Information

This event will be livestreamed through a PacSci Zoom meeting at 1 p.m. A link to the program will be emailed to registrants after registration is completed. Limited space is available.
