Make-it, Take-it: Black History Month Edition

Take part in special Make-it, Take-it activities celebrating Black History Month. These hands-on activities were developed and are led by Discovery Corps throughout February. Each activity features science concepts related to the works of Aprille Erickson, Sylvester James Gates, Mark Dean, Lonnie Johnson, Patricia Bath, and Mary Maynard Daly.

Activity Schedule:

  • Feb. 1-2: Orbit (Katherine Johnson), and Space Ships (Mae Jemison)
  • Feb. 8-9: Design a Planet (Aprille Ericsson), and Pocket Solar System (Sylvester James Gates)
  • Feb. 15-16: Bead Your Name in Binary (Mark Dean), and Saves the Day (Lonnie Johnson)
  • Feb. 22: Thaumotrope (Patricia Bath)
  • Feb. 23: Heartbeats (Marie Maynard Daly)
