Nursing Now and Achieving Global Healthcare Equity at Pacific Science Center Aug. 13, 2019

Event Details

There are twice as many nurses in the world as physicians, and nurses are the primary implementers of healthcare. Instead of blaming unbalanced global access to primary care on a shortage of physicians, the issue should be attributed to underdeveloped and under-deployed nursing resources. Join Dr. Azita Emami, Executive Dean of the University of Washington School of Nursing, to discuss the critical role that nursing must play to provide more equitable access to healthcare globally. Dr. Emami will share her work with the worldwide Nursing Now initiative, which raises awareness about the urgent need for nursing roles and advocates for better nursing education and deployment of the global nursing workforce. Doors open at 6:30 p.m at the North Entrance.
