Star Trek and the Science of Human(oid) Evolution

Star Trek and the Science of Human(oid) Evolution

Have you ever wondered why alien life in the Star Trek multiverse resembles us Earthlings so closely? It’s not just because they filmed with human actors! Explore the possibility of humanoid or other life on alien planets with Dr. Mohamed Noor, long-time Trek fan and professor of Biology and Dean of Natural Sciences at Duke University. Drawing on scenes from Star Trek as well as principles of evolution, Dr. Noor will evaluate hypotheses for why so many humanoids exist in the popular and long-running science fiction franchise.
