After 40 years of being the largest and longest operating domed laser theater in the world, the Laser Dome at Pacific Science Center has been upgraded with a Totally. New. Laser. System. This new system will use nine Rainbow FX laser projectors, filling the dome with vibrant color and light. This is the most full color lasers permanently installed in any Laser Dome in America.
This new laser system boasts tightly columned laser beams, fantastic color balance, solid state reliability — in projectors the size of a toaster! It is named Rainbow FX because they have built in Optical FX filters; Star, Fuzz, and Diffraction Grating. The laser system outputs about 23watts of RGB laser light compared to less than 6watts of RGB from the previous system. The new lasers use a fraction of the electricity!
