Camera Policy

We love social media and sharing of art and music! Phone cameras can be used only without flash and with the screen turned down to the dimmest and lowest setting.

Laser performances are done in the complete dark and are completely immersive visual experiences. While we do encourage guests to share their experience on social media, it is important that phone lights and usage are not disruptive to others. If phone usage becomes disruptive to other guests, PacSci staff will ask that you put your phone away for the duration of the performance.

About

After more than 40 years of being the largest and longest dedicated operating domed laser theater in the world, the Laser Dome at Pacific Science Center has been upgraded with a Totally. New. Laser. System. This new system will use nine Rainbow FX laser projectors, filling the dome with vibrant color and light. This is the most full color lasers permanently installed in any Laser Dome in America.

This new laser system boasts tightly columned laser beams, fantastic color balance, solid state reliability — in projectors the size of a toaster! It is named Rainbow FX because they have built in Optical FX filters; Star, Fuzz, and Diffraction Grating. The laser system outputs about 23 watts of RGB laser light compared to less than 6watts of RGB from the previous system. The new lasers use a fraction of the electricity!

Laser Dome Accessibility

The Laser Dome is wheelchair accessible. When arriving, guests using wheelchairs should contact Laser Dome staff to assist with seating.

Additionally, there are six designated seats available for patrons with disabilities with arms that raise for easier access. If assistance is needed, please reach out to Laser Dome staff at the show.

Laser Dome is an immersive audio and visual experience. We provide complimentary earplugs for guests who are sensitive to loud music. Laser shows also feature lighting that can affect guests with photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitive conditions.
