Of Snakes, Honey Bee Hair And Sea Star Feet

by | Sep 6, 2016

Our Life Sciences staff is very excited to announce we have a new corn snake on display.

“His name is Brie,” says Animal Care Supervisor Lauren Bloomenthal. “We got him through the Pacific Northwest Herpetological Society.”

We’ve talked before about our partnership with the organization where we are a foster home for animals in need of adoption. But in this case we adopted Brie permanently and you can see him near our naked mole rats, axolotls and other creatures.

But during our discussion of this new resident we discovered there is a connection between some of our animals and an amazing photo exhibition currently on view at the Science Center, the top 20 finishers in the annual Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition.
