Frequently Asked Questions

Who can I name on my membership?
A membership consists of individuals living in a single household. An exception to this rule is made for grandparents and caregivers of youths. Every membership must have at least one named adult. Starting at the Family Level, memberships can include up to 2 adults and up to 6 youths (ages 3-18). All members must be listed at time of purchase and member names cannot be changed until the time of a membership renewal.

How can I bring a guest with me for every PacSci visit?
To cover anyone outside of the member household, we have introduced the Flex Guest pass. A Flex Guest is a permanent, unnamed guest on the membership that may accompany any listed Member throughout the membership term. Flex Guest passes are available in addition to the single-use guest passes that come with every membership. Flex Guests must be accompanied by a named member. This named member can be a youth listed on the membership account, which makes this a great option for nannies and other caregivers! Starting at the Dual level, memberships can have up to two Flex Adults and up to two Flex Youths. Flex Guest passes are $20 each.

When will I receive my membership cards?
Our membership cards make checking in and booking tickets a much faster and more efficient process. You will receive a temporary membership card upon your initial purchase (either printed onsite or via email for online purchases) that you can use until your permanent cards arrive. We send permanent membership cards that should arrive 2-3 weeks after purchase. To conserve resources, only two cards will be printed per account. However, anyone listed on the membership account can use these cards to check in and book tickets. If a card is lost or stolen we will reprint cards for a $2 reprint fee.

Do I need my membership card to visit Pacific Science Center?
No, with a photo ID we can search your personal information in our system and access any of your available member benefits. However, having a membership card present makes the process of checking in and accessing member discounts as simple and fast as a scan of your card, so we do recommend members always bring their cards with them.

How do I use my passes?
Passes for guests, documentary films, feature films, and evening lasers shows are all stored electronically. You can access most of these passes by logging in and reserving tickets online, over the phone, or in person. However, guest passes cannot currently be accessed online. To use one of your single-use guest passes, simply alert the admissions representative that you would like to use this benefit at the time of your visit.

Are there any discounts on memberships?
We offer a 10% discount for military, educators, and AAA members. The AAA discount is only applicable for first time membership purchases.
We also offer a 20% discount for employees of our corporate partners. Ask your employer, call (206) 443-2924 or email to find out if your employer is one of our partners. Proof is required for a corporate partner discount at time of purchase. Proof can include anything from a staff ID badge to an email from an employee email address. We cannot apply a corporate partner discount to on online purchases of memberships at this time. We cannot retroactively apply a corporate partner discount to an already active membership account.
Membership discounts, promotions, and special offers cannot be combined with any other discounts, promotions, or offers.

How can I give a membership to a friend or family member?
Pacific Science Center memberships make the perfect gift for friends and family! Our gift memberships make the process of giving the gift of discovery quick and easy. When purchasing a gift membership voucher, you will create a billing account with your name, contact information and mailing address. If you purchase over the phone, our dedicated team will then mail the gift voucher to the address provided. When purchasing online, once the gift membership has been emailed to you, you may print it out or forward the email to the intended recipient. Once your recipient receives the gift voucher, they can visit us anytime to redeem their gift membership. Their year of membership will only start once the voucher has been redeemed.

Gift vouchers are valid for three years from date of purchase.

How do I use the ASTC reciprocal museum program?
A Pacific Science Center membership allows you to visit any ASTC museum for free. There are two restrictions to this rule: one, the museum must be at least 90 miles AWAY from Pacific Science Center’s address. Two, the museum must be at least 90 miles AWAY from your home address. Each ASTC Travel Passport Program participating institution may have its own rules and policies regarding use of this benefit. We always recommend calling or emailing ahead of time to find out what kind of proof and ID these institutions require. View a full list of ASTC museums and rules and restrictions.

On a trip and forgot to pack your membership cards? No problem! Contact the PacSci Membership Office at (206) 443-2924 or email and we’ll send you email proof confirming your membership. If you’re already at the institution you’d like to visit, many institutions will accept a verification call from our Membership Office as well.

Are there terms and conditions for membership?
Pacific Science Center reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership and/or deny admission without refund at any time it is deemed necessary.
