Twenty five years ago, the Hubble Space Telescope was launched into Earth’s low orbit and has since produced some of the most detailed images of visible-light ever and has allowed scientists a deep view into space and time. Hubble’s images have lead to breakthroughs in the way that we understand space, astrophysics and has allowed us to accurately determine the rate of expansion of the universe. Hubble’s images are works of art. Vibrant spectrum of colors wrapped in contorted sculptures of gas and stars in frontiers previously untouchable by the human eye. Now, twenty-five years later, images from deep space continue to spark the imaginations of millions. That’s why Pacific Science Center invites you to experience a journey to limits of outer space in the PACCAR IMAX Theater. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, join seven astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis as they repair the Hubble Space Telescope and experience the breathtaking images that resulted from that mission in IMAX 3D. Tickets are now available. Be sure to combine your IMAX ticket with our general admission, to discover more about the mysteries of outer space in our Planetarium and our exhibits.
