The Force Is Strong With This Movie

by | Dec 9, 2015

In 2005, it looked like the Star Wars saga was officially over with Lucasfilm and Twentieth Century Fox releasing the final Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, intending to complete the prequels trilogy.

But in 2012, Studio Disney brokered a $4.05 billion deal to buy Lucasfilm, and with the deal came the announcement that they would be starting production on a whole new trilogy of Star Wars films that would keep the epic story going for years and years to come. Now finalized, with film-production lasting nearly 6 full months, Disney will present Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a December 17 release date. It is the first film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy after The Walt Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm.

Directed, co-produced, and co-written by J.J. Abrams, the seventh installment stars a handful of names including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max von Sydow.

See it in our newly renovated Boeing IMAX® Theater, boasting Washington state’s largest screen, next generation IMAX® technology with digital laser-projection and twelve-channel sound. Get the ultimate IMAX® experience only available at Pacific Science Center.
