The Answer

The question in this edition is:

What 12,000-year-old animal was found with fur still on it?

The answer: Lion_Cubs

Two cave lion cubs were recently discovered in the permafrost of Siberia. These two cubs died when they were killed in a landslide and remained frozen ever since this event occurred 12,000 years ago. Remarkably, the fur and whiskers have been preserved, as well as the soft innards, such as the heart and lungs. These animals, that are relatives of today’s lions, should reveal important scientific information from the analysis of their DNA. See images of the cubs and read more about the two cubs in the November 17, 2015, edition of The Siberian Times.
