History of The Willard Smith Planetarium
Originally installed in October 1977, the Willard Smith Planetarium has hosted thousands of families, adults, kids and school groups. In December of 2015 the planetarium installed a new projection system from Digitalis Education Solutions of Bremerton Washington. This single projector system allows Science Center staff to present up-to-the-minute NASA photographs, research and movies. The new system gives guests the opportunity to travel from Puget Sound all the way to the edge of the visible Universe, and back again. Come explore the planets and the cosmos in our state-of-the-art planetarium.
