Science of Spirits
Be curious and sip on science served straight up. Elevate your palate by discovering the unique process of distilling while enjoying an evening exploring PacSci’s exhibits after hours, including the Planetarium and Tropical Butterfly House.
Test your knowledge and learn the art of spirit tasting from local distillers themselves. Observe the colors, smell the aromas, and get to know the taste profiles of your old and new favorite liquors.
Each ticket includes eight tastings and recipes. Each tasting is defined by one (1) 0.5 oz tasting of one (1) individual spirit.
All guests are expected to drink responsibly and to ensure that they have a safe means of transportation before leaving the event.

Science of Spirit FAQ
Please read the following information about the event Science of Spirits this February 21, 2020. We are excited to see you there!
Do I need my ID?
This event is only for 21 and over adults. A current, valid photo ID is required to enter. Exceptions cannot be made to those without valid photo ID. Please have your ID ready upon arrival.
Where do I enter?
All guests will enter through our South Entrance on Denny Way; it is not our listed address. Guests will not be admitted through the North Entrance in Seattle Center. No entry will be allowed after 9:15 p.m.
Where can I park?
There are several parking lots in the surrounding area. A detailed parking map is available here. If you plan on driving to our event, we ask that you do so responsibly.
We encourage guests to use public transportation, taxis, and other ride share services.
If you are using a ride share service or being dropped off, the closest drop off location will be near the corner of 2nd Ave & John St.
Will there be coat check?
Yes, we provide free coat check. Coat check is found to your left once you enter and get stamped, before you go up the stairs.
Will there be food present at the event?
Yes, we are happy to share that Sizzle Dogs will have food for purchase at the event. They will have vegetarian options!
What is included in the ticket price?
Guests have after-hours access to Pacific Science Center’s exhibits and programs in Buildings 1, 2, 3 and Ackerley Family Gallery, including: the Tide Pool, Tropical Butterfly House, and Planetarium. There will also be various themed science activities, such as our Love & Mythos Planetarium show, I Only Have Eyes for You dissections, and experiencing the electrostatic charge of a Van de Graaf Generator.
In addition, each guest will receive eight tastings. Learn more about the tastings below.
How many tastings are you allowed?
Each attendee will received eight tastings, included with their ticket. A tasting is defined by one (1) .5oz tasting of one (1) individual spirit. We’re happy to have 14 distilleries onsite, so be sure to use your eight tastings for liquors and distilleries that appeal to you; you can look at our featured distilleries elsewhere on this page. Limited additional tastings will be available for purchase onsite.
Can I purchase any of the distilleries’ products onsite?
There will be an onsite Spirits Store featuring select participating distillery’s product. This product will be for purchase to be consumed offsite.
What is each person’s responsibility in regard to alcohol consumption?
All guests of Science of Spirits are expected to drink responsibly and ensure they have a safe means of transportation before leaving the event. Any guest found to be intoxicated during the event and/or creating a disturbance will be asked to leave the event by staff security. Refunds will not be issued.
