Foundations of Science Breakfast 2020 Postponed

This year, with your help, we anticipated raising at least $900,000 at the annual Foundations of Science Breakfast. However, as a result of the current restrictions of gatherings designed to stop the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to postpone the upcoming Breakfast event on April 29. We are hoping to find a date for the event in the Fall 2020.

Any support you were planning to make on April 29 or to the Challenge Pool would make a tremendous difference right now. We need your help now more than ever.

Support Curiosity

While we are closed to the public, we will work as hard as we can to continue serving the community with Curiosity at Home, Understanding COVID-19, and other programs that we can deliver online and digitally.

A gift today will enable PacSci to maintain operations at the minimum level required to provide online experiences and distance learning. Your support will also help make it possible for PacSci to resume operations when public health guidelines allow.

The Foundations of Science Breakfast is Pacific Science Center’s largest annual fundraising event, raising support critical to providing innovators of tomorrow with access to hands-on science experiences today. Last year’s success enabled Pacific Science Center to bring Science on Wheels outreach visits to over 60,000 Title I students across Washington State, to provide 3,700 families with low or no-cost memberships, to ensure all youth have the opportunity to attend camp through 160 scholarships, and so much more.

At the 2020 Foundations of Science Breakfast, Rosalind “Roz” Brewer will deliver the keynote address. As chief operating officer and group president for Starbucks, Roz Brewer leads the company’s operating businesses across the Americas (Canada, U.S. and Latin America), and Starbucks license stores as well as the global functions of marketing, technology, supply chain, product innovation, and store development organizations. In 2018, Fortune ranked her #33 on its list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business. She is a current director of Amazon and a former director of Lockheed Martin and Molson Coors Brewing Company. She also chairs the board of trustees at Spelman College. Read her full bio

Sponsorship of the Foundations of Science Breakfast provides the opportunity to stand with nearly 600 of the region’s business, civic, and philanthropic leaders in ensuring access to science education for everyone in our community. By igniting curiosity and fueling a passion for discovery, experimentation, and critical thinking, we can empower the next generation of great thinkers.
